आंबुज म्हनजे कोन Ambuj means angle

 मांग किंवा मातंग हा भारतातील एक अनुसुचित समाविष्ट असलेला समुह आहे. या जाती समुहाला मध्ययुगीन कालात बहिष्कृत (अस्प्रश्य) मानले गेले होते. या जातसमुहाची माणसे प्रामुख्याने महाराष्ट्र राज्यात राहतात. २०११ मध्ये, महाराष्ट्रात मातंगांची लोकसंख्या सुमारे २५ लाख आहे.

 मातंग जातीला भारतीय राज्यघटनेने अनुसुचित जातीत समाविष्ट केलेले आहे. भारतातील ११ राज्यात मातंग समुदायाला अनुसुचित जाती मध्ये समाविष्ठ केले आहे.

 मातंग समाज हा मुळचा रांगडा, आक्रमक तरीही प्रामाणिक तसेच गावचा संरक्षणकर्ता समाज होता.या समाजाचा भारताला स्वातंत्र मिळवुन देण्यात खुप मोटा वाटा आहे.या समाजाचे काही क्रांतिकारी होवुन गेले परंतु भारतातल्या जातिय वादांच्या भोवर्यात त्यांचा ईतिहास लिहीला गेला नाही. यांनी देश स्वातंत्र होन्या साठी खुप मदत केली आहे.त्यापुर्वीही  शिवाजी महाराजांच्या काळात देखील गडांचे, घरे, चौक्यांचे पहारे तसेच काही ठिकाणी किल्लेदाराची जबाबदारीही मातंग समाजाकडे होती. त्या काळात मातंगांच्या शौर्याची काही उदाहरणे सापडतात. यांत शिवाजी महाराजांच्या सांगण्यावरून रायगडावर तोफ चढवणारे 'सर्जेराव मांग' व बाजी पासलकर या महाराजांच्या शिलेदाराची उमदी घोडी चोरून विजापूरकराला भेट देण्यासाठी घेऊन जाणाऱ्या मर्कतराव व सोनू दळवीचा कर्दनकाळ ठरलेले बाजी पासलकरांचे विश्वासू सहकारी जातीने 'येल्या मांग' होते. शिवाजीकालीन बखरीत व पोवाड्यांत यांचा उल्लेख आढळतो. स्वातंत्र्यपूर्व काळात इंग्रजांनी मातंग, रामोशी अशा आक्रमक जातींना गुन्हेगार ठरवले. त्यांना गावांतून तडीपार केले, त्यांच्यावर खोटे आरोप ठेवले. तेव्हा मातंगांनी इंग्रजांच्या विरोधात गांवागांवातून संघर्ष केला अंबुज हे कमळाला समानार्थी शब्द आहे म्हनजे चिखलात ऊगवनार कमळ.म्हणुन लोकांद्वारे मातंग समाजाच्या लोकसमुहाला अंबुज अस म्हुनुन संबोधल जावु लागल.कारन यांची एक कोडवर्ड भाषा होती, हा जातीसमुह त्या भाषेचा वापर आपसात बोलताना करत असे.दांडाळ आरवलाय, म्हणजे मालक आलाय .असे अनेक शब्द ते रोजच्या बोलन्यासाठी ते आपसात वापरत. ही भाषा दुसर्या जाति समुहाला कळत नसे व अजुनही कळली नाही.ती त्यांची गुप्त भाषा होती. ते ह्या भाषेचा उपयोग संकटात भांडनात लोकप्रचारात अशा अनेक कामासाठी बोलत ह्या जातित अनेक क्रांतिकारी होवुन गेले परंतु त्यांचा ईतिहास हा दाबुन टाकन्यात आला.आजही काही ठिकाणी ह्या जातिसमुहाला अंबुज म्हनुन संबोधल्या जात.आजही काही ठिकाणी अंबुज भाषा मांग जातितील वैयस्कर मानसाकडुन एैकाला मिळते. ही अंबुज भाषा ह्या जाती समुहाने जातीतल्या जातीत  कम्युनिकेट करन्यासाठी ऊदयास आनली गेलेली कोडवर्ड भाषा होती. म्हनुन आज ही कोणी आपल म्हणन जर कोनाला कळु द्यायच नसल्यास तो हळु हळु बोलायल्यावर समोरचा त्याला म्हनत ये अंबुज वाय करायलाव का राव ही त्याची आंबुज भाषा. त्याची जिवनशैली आजही काहीषी बदललेली नाही. 

महाराष्ट्र, कर्नाटक , वर्हाड ,नागपुर, गुजरात इत्यादी भागात यांचा   लोक समुह आढळतो यांच्यात पोटजाती ही आहेत . यांचा मूळ पुरुष यम ॠषि आहे असें मांगांचें म्हणणें आहे. मातंग या शब्दापासून मांग हा शब्द आला असावा. यांच्या स्थलपरत्वें दखने, खानदेशी, वऱ्हाडे, घोडके अजुन काही  पोटजाती आहेत. याशिवाय डफळे, उचले, पिंढारी, होलर, गारोडी, ककरकाढे इत्यादि अनेक उपजाती आहेत. यांच्यामध्यें भिसे, चव्हाण, जाधव, जगताप वाघमारे, गवळी,शिंदे,पारवे,शेरकर इत्यादि आडनांवें प्रामुख्खाने असतात. हे देवी, लक्ष्मीआई, मरीआई, महादेव, खंडोबा इत्यादि देवतांची पूजा करतात हे पोतराज म्हनुन देविचा पुजारी म्हणुन देखिल हिंदुधर्मात प्रसिद्ध आहेत ते मौसाहार देखिल करतात. यांचे बहुतेक सर्व संस्कार हिंदूंप्रमाणेंच आहेत परंतु आज काहीसा ह्या समाजात बदल जानवतो आहे . गुरें खच्ची करणें, दोरखंड वळणें, संदल, चाबूक तोबरे इत्यादि चामडयाची कामें मांग पुर्वी करत असत. वाजंत्री वाजविणें, भंग्याचीं कामें करणें, शेतकी इत्यादीहि धंदे हे करत होते. यांनां चेटुकविद्या अवगत असते असा समज होता. गुजराथमध्यें मांगेला नांवाची एक मांगाची पोटजात आहे. ती जात मांगांत अगदीं कनिष्ठ समजली जाते. ठाणें जिल्ह्यांतहि ही जात आढळते, तिचा मासे धरण्याचा मुख्य धंदा आहे. गारुडी मांगांची जात गुन्हेगार जातीमध्यें मोडते. यांच्यांतील बायका व पुरुष चोरी करण्यांत पटाइत असतात. यांच्यात शिक्षणाचें प्रमान अद्यापही फारच कमी आहे आणी याच गारुडी पोटजाति मध्ये आंबुज भाषा जास्त प्रमानात बोलल्या जाते असा हा मांग व त्यांची आंबुज भाषा.लेख आवडल्यास कमेंट्स करा

Mang or Matang is a scheduled inclusion group in India.  This caste group was considered excluded (untouchable) in medieval times.  The people of this caste mainly live in the state of Maharashtra.  In 2011, the population of Matangs in Maharashtra was around 25 lakhs.

 The Matang caste is included in the Scheduled Castes by the Indian Constitution.  The Matang community has been included in the Scheduled Castes in 11 states of India.

 The Matang community was originally a yawning, aggressive yet honest as well as a village protector. This community has played a major role in bringing about the independence of India.  He has helped a lot for the independence of the country.  There are some examples of Matang's bravery during that period.  Among them were 'Sarjerao Mang' who fired cannons at Raigad at the behest of Shivaji Maharaj and Baji Pasalkar, who stole the mare of Maharaj's Shiledar and took him to visit Bijapurkar.  It is mentioned in Bakharit and Powadya of Shivaji period.  In the pre-independence period, the British criminalized such aggressive castes as Matang and Ramoshi.  They were deported from the villages, false accusations were leveled against them.  The Matangs fought against the British from village to village. Ambuj is a synonym for lotus, meaning a lotus that grows in the mud.  I mean, the owner has come. He used many such words for everyday speech.  This language was not understood by another caste group and is still not understood. It was their secret language.  He used this language in crisis, in conflict, in publicity, for many such works. This caste became a revolutionary but its history was suppressed. Even today in some places this caste group is called as Ambuj.  The Ambuj language was a codeword language introduced by the caste group to communicate between castes.  So today, if someone doesn't want to let Kona know what he is saying, then when he speaks slowly, the person in front of him should say, "Ambuj y karyalav ka rao" is his ambuj language.  His lifestyle has not changed much even today. His settlements are found in 

Maharashtra, Karnataka, Varhad, Nagpur, Gujarat etc.  Among these are sub-castes . Manganche says that his original man is Yama Rishi.  The word mang must have come from the word matang.  Deccan, Khandeshi, Varhade, Ghodke are some of the sub-castes.  Apart from this, there are many subspecies like Daffle, Uchale, Pindhari, Holler, Garodi, Kakarkadhe etc.  Among them, Bhise, Chavan, Jadhav, Jagtap Waghmare, Gawli, Shinde, Parve, Sherkar etc. are prominent.  They worship deities like Goddess, Lakshmi, Mary, Mahadev, Khandoba etc. They are also famous in Hinduism as priests of Goddess Potraj Mhanun.  Almost all of their rites are the same as Hindus, but today there is some change in this society.  In the past, they used to do leather work like slaughtering cattle, twisting ropes, sandals, whips and so on.  He was also playing the flute, making pottery, farming etc.  It was believed that he was aware of witchcraft.  In Gujarat, there is a sub-breed of manga called mangala.  She is considered to be very inferior in caste demands.  This species is also found in Thane district, its main occupation is fishing.  The caste of Garudi Mangas falls into the criminal caste.  Among them, men and women are good at stealing.  The standard of education among them is still very low and the demand for Ambuj language is widely spoken in this Garudi sub-caste and their Ambuj language.
